CELEBRATIONS!
Celebration Ceremony 20 May 2008
The Northamptonshire Healthy Schools Team held
their second Healthy Schools celebration ceremony on
20 May. Pupil and staff representation from Northamptonshire
schools attended the event to celebrate their achievement
in gaining Healthy Schools Status. The day was packed
with a full programme that included songs with a healthy
theme performed by pupils from Bliss Charity School
and Deanshanger Primary School, one performance required
audience participation. Schools received their plaques
from Maggie McCutcheon and Clarence the Dragon from
Northampton Town Football Club.

is being well used for information regarding drugs,
alcohol, tobacco and sex and relationships. The question
and answer service is being well used in all areas.

NEW
RESOURCE FOR USE IN SCHOOLS
The
Sex Education Forum has recently published a new factsheet
entitled Addressing Healthy Relationships and Sexual
Exploitation within PSHE in Schools.
It is designed to help teachers at Key Stage 3 and
4 to plan and deliver effective education on reducing
the risk of sexual exploitation, and was
|
commissioned by the Home Office to support Sex and Relationships
Education within PSHE.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AROUND SMOKE FREE LEGISLATION
Since 1 July 2007 a law requiring smoke free environments
in workplaces has come in to effect. The legislation
ensures that workers, including those in schools,
are protected from the risks to health from tobacco
smoke and are guaranteed the right to work in a
smoke free environment.
