Welcome
to our new look health4schools website. The website
has been live since 2001 and continues to support Northamptonshire
schools by providing a range of support materials and
information on training, how to achieve Healthy Schools
Status and resources.
The Northamptonshire Healthy Schools Programme is managed
and delivered at a local level and is a partnership between
Northamptonshire Teaching Primary Care Trust and Northamptonshire
County Council Children and Young People's Service. The
aim of the Healthy Schools Team is to work directly with
schools providing advice and support in planning and achieving
Healthy Schools Status. |

Support
includes:
-Developing an individual action plan
-Audit tools that identify strengths and areas for
development
-Advice, support and signposting
-Advice on how to evidence the Healthy Schools
four key themes
-Providing an application / assessment procedure
for gaining status
Northamptonshire Healthy Schools also offers a web-based
pupil
survey tool that enables schools to gauge student
opinion relating to a number of areas within the four
key themes.
The Healthy Schools Team recommends and encourages each
school to complete pupil surveys as part of their work
towards Healthy Schools Status. The surveys will provides
information regarding the attitudes and experiences of
students and will also contribute towards quantative outcomes
when schools complete their self validation.
Celebration events
are held with either individual schools or as a much larger
ceremony hosted by the Healthy Schools Team to celebrate
schools achieving their Healthy School Status. Schools
are also encouraged to share their areas of good practice
with other schools. |
